Bruises using Kryolan Bruise wheel

For our first special effects lesson we were given a demo on creating new and old bruises using the Kryolan Bruise Wheel. We were then allowed to practice on each other for the rest of the lesson. When practicing  the bruises I found that the new bruise did not look as real as the old bruises, which looked more realistic. Below are some pictures of my first attempt at bruises and the method on how to recreate them.

Method

New Bruise

  • Apply light purple to the skin – use the tip of the finger and push the product in an outwards motion.
  • Next apply red (not a lot) on top of the purple and blend
  • Finally apply dark purple (not a lot) and tap on top of the red and light purple.
  • Continue to blend and re-apply until you achieve the desired effect.

Old Bruise

  • Apply light green/yellow to the skin- use the tip of the finger and push the product out in an outwards motion.
  • Next apply a small amount of dark green to the light green for definition.
  • Continue to blend and re-apply until you achieve the desired effect.

Thanks for reading
